Better stability
Increased security
More functionality
Regular Joomla updates have several advantages. The security increases, through the security patches. Errors are fixed, which were found. This makes the system as a whole more stable and also introduces minor improvements. Usually every 3-7 weeks new Joomla versions are released. On average this means 10 updates per year. In rare cases, two patches are also released in a short time to fix a bug in the last version. Most important is a timely update in case of a Joomla security hole. Therefore you have to read the patch notes of the respective Joomla version. Security holes are classified in Low, Middle and High. With "Middle" and "High" you should install the update within the shortest possible time. Because many "High" vulnerabilities are now very quickly exploited. There are cases known, where after 2 hours a vulnerability becomes known, it has already been exploited. Therefore regular and timely Joomla updates are very important. You can order us to do the updates or you can book one of our maintenance contracts, where we take care of the updates. Our approach is always the same. We make a backup of your current website, update the language files, extensions, plugins, templates and Joomla itself. Afterwards we perform a function check. If we notice any errors, we try to fix them. With a small Joomla installation an update is usually possible without problems. In cases where the effort is more difficult to estimate, we will weigh up all possible alternatives in advance to give you the best possible result in the end.
